About Gwen Williams
Have you ever noticed that sometimes you walk into a room and it makes you feel wonderful... like there is some magic formula at work? And sometimes, when you walk into a room and the formula is off, you can't wait to leave?
I have always been particularly sensitive to those first impressions, and through my life have paid attention to what the elements are in spaces that contribute to my comfort... or lack there-of. Some of them are obvious, and some of them are more subtle.
Early on I discovered that I intuitively knew how to create or adjust spaces so that they felt amazing. Later on, I realized that this was my very favorite thing to do. I formally studied Interior Design to build a solid foundation of design concepts and principles, Feng Shui to gain a vocabulary to describe the flow of energy which I already intuitively understood, and Interior Redesign to focus on an approach that is not simply about buying more stuff. SpaceTransform was born out of this journey.
I use an integrated repertoire of tools, training and talents which enable me to create nourishing, inspiring spaces. I offer affordable design services to help transform homes and businesses into environments which will make you and your family, guests, and clients feel amazing.
Tools
I work with reliable Interior Design and Redesign principles, with the timeless wisdom of Feng Shui, and with my own creativity, energy, and intuition. I come into your home with a literal toolbox, as well -- packed with furniture-sliders and an array of tools. I am prepared to move furniture around until it works, re-hang art for maximum impact, arrange your treasures so they can be truly appreciated, recommend additional touches, and do whatever it takes to make your space truly amazing and totally you.
Training
I am a certified Feng Shui consultant specializing in Authentic Form School Feng Shui; I trained at Blue Mountain Feng Shui Institute under Master Shan-Tung Hsu. I am also a certified Interior Redesigner, trained in Canada through the Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (I.R.I.S.) to help people make the most of their existing belongings. I studied Interior Design at Bellevue College, and have degrees in Psychology and Biology from Hamline University.
